The athlete earned international recognition and admiration when she gave the world one of the most memorable moment in the history of sports when she scored the first ever perfect ten on asymmetric bars during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. Furthermore, she scored six more 10s perfect and made her 14 years age, the youngest Olympic medalist in all categories. Comaneci didn't just draw worldwide attention; she also brought Romania on the map. The sports icon was a worldwide sensation after she came up with an unbeatable performance. She created a legend and helped to popularize gymnastics across the world. This changed the perception of female athletes. Her impact was so significant at this Olympics that even the uneven bar competition includes two movements named in honor of her toe-on and release, both of which remain rated at a high difficulty and level. In addition to the Olympics she also became the hottest athlete during the World Championships and European Championships. Her performance have made her one of the best gymnasts to ever compete.
